Privacy Policy – General

About The App Office

The App Office are mobile app developers, commissioned by our clients to produce mobile apps for their company or organisation. Our clients manage their mobile app including it’s content themselves.  In addition, The App Office provides a service that allows our client’s app to be made available for download via our developer account(s) Google Play / Apple Store.  We are not responsible  in how the client handles your data via the app, you will need to refer to the business or organisation that is licensed to use our app technology.

Location, Device ID and Other Services

The app may use or store your general geographic location, other services and device ID if you have given permission to do so and we do not share this data for any other purpose other than to permit the app to function correctly and allow the app to send push notifications. We may also use this data for the benefit of our analytic system to measure the app’s performance.  Location services are typically used GPS Coupon, Points of Interest, Maps and Find your Car feature. You can disable location services and remove other services in your device’s settings if available, depending on your operating system.

For example, Google Play shows you which permission groups an app will be able to access. This information can help you decide whether you want to install the app. We ask you to refer to the Google Play permissions list to decide if your wish to download the app.

We cannot fully disclose precisely what,why and how our apps utilise the specific technical attributes of any device as it may infringe upon commercial confidentiality agreements, compromise app security and is dependant on third party and the app store terms of service, including any changes to legal regulatory requirements that may change at any time. If you are not happy with the apps access requirements, you are not obliged to download the app.  Most apps are designed to utilise the devices native features.

Information

The App Office does not share personally identifiable information (such as name, address, email and/or phone ID) with other companies for marketing purposes. Generally, we do not collect or process personal information from the apps we supply to our client. However our clients may ask you for personal information when you complete forms or submit surveys and we expect our clients to handle your personal information according to the Data Protection Act.  If you have any concerns, you are encouraged to contact the organisation direct about data protection and their own privacy policy.

Third Party Service Providers

The app may use third party service providers such as PayPal, Facebook, Twitter, Survey Monkey, MailChimp and other providers who may collect personal data which you may have provided.  You accept by using the app you will not hold The App Office (mobile app developer) liable for any violations of how any third party service providers including our clients handle your personal data. Google Play / Apple iTunes may also retain, collect or share relevant data when you download our client’s app and you should refer to their privacy policies in any case.

Special Situations

To operate the service, we also may make your information available to third parties in these limited circumstances: (1) with your express consent, (2) when we have a good faith belief it is required by law, (3) when we have a good faith belief it is necessary to protect our rights or property, or (4) to any successor in a merger or acquisition. We will attempt to notify you in any such case, to the extent permitted by law to do so.
